As an Associate Data and Research Analyst at Columbia University in New York City, I bring a strong educational background and extensive experience working with large data sets.
My passion for programming and data analytics began during my second to last year of college, while working in an accounting office and taking part-time classes at Baruch College. I took a programming class focused on C++ and basic data structures, which ignited my love for coding. I immediately changed my major from Finance to Computer Information Systems and immersed myself in the exciting world of programming.
At Baruch, I gained a solid foundation in data structure and manipulation, utilizing Python Data Frames and libraries like Matplotlib and Seaborn.
I also honed my web scraping skills with BeautifulSoup and became skilled in SQL while working on various projects in different environments like MS Access, Oracle DBMS, and SQL Developer.
In my current role at Columbia University, I continue to leverage my SQL expertise to extract and manipulate large amounts of data to create reports and datasets in response to often ad-hoc and time-sensitive requests from stakeholders.
I am passionate about programming and data analytics and enjoy working with new technologies and applications to create more efficient and accurate data solutions.
My biggest strength lies in my ability to take on challenges and apply creativity to find optimal solutions.
My heart sings when I am outdoors, exploring new trails and immersing myself in nature.
Hiking, camping, and biking are my go-to activities that remind me of what is truly important in life and motivate me to be a better version of myself.
These experiences have taught me valuable lessons about endurance and perseverance, and I often draw from them in my daily life to overcome any challenges that come my way.
Another one of my passions is traveling, which has taken me to South America, Asia, and Europe so far.
The process of discovery is what fuels my love for traveling; from new landscapes and cultures to meeting new people and gaining unique perspectives, there's nothing quite like stepping out of my comfort zone and exploring the unfamiliar.
This curiosity and appetite for more fuels my excitement to learn and expand my horizons.
When I'm not adventuring, you can find me tending to my backyard garden in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Growing delicious cucumbers, raspberries, and eggplants is both a tranquil escape and an ongoing project that keeps me grounded and connected to the earth.
Overall, I believe in finding balance in life and pursuing what brings me joy, whether it's exploring the great outdoors, traveling to new places, or nurturing my garden. These passions keep me energized and motivated, ready to take on any challenge that comes my way.

The Data Analytics track provided me with a comprehensive understanding of working with big data. This program placed a strong emphasis on Python and its libraries, including Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn, as well as data cleaning, visualization, and extracting data from online sources using API's in JSON format. In addition, I gained expertise in SQL, including creating relational databases in MS Access and running queries in both Access and SQL Developer. This program equipped me with the skills necessary to excel in a data-driven environment and prepared me to solve complex problems using data analysis.

Associate Data and Research Analyst
In my current role as a Data and Research Analyst at Columbia University (CCIT), I continuously enhance my database management skills by working with SQL Server environments such as SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS. I am responsible for creating new packages and maintaining existing ones to ensure all ETL processes run smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, I retrieve data from various sources within university systems to create automated and interactive reports and data sets. Lastly, I analyze and collate data to support data-informed decisions for various stakeholders. My daily tasks involve ensuring the best user experience by maintaining high-quality data and improving accessibility.
01/02 2020 - winter semester
Tutor for Python programming
During the winter semester, I worked as an in-class tutor, assisting students with their Python programming assignments.
As an in-class tutor, I was responsible for analyzing and evaluating their code for logical and syntax errors, providing guidance
to students, and facilitating their understanding of computational thinking principles.
This experience taught me the importance of clear and concise code, and the value of commenting code to save time in the future.
It was also an opportunity for me to learn from other students' coding processes and techniques.
May 2017 - June 2019
Accounts Payable Associate
As an Accounts Payable Associate, my primary responsibility was to pay bills for 75 buildings, which translated to around 2500 invoices per month.
I worked closely with building managers and vendors to ensure accurate and timely payments, which involved gathering proper documentation and financial approvals, cutting and sending checks, and other payment methods.
To excel in this position, I needed to have excellent interpersonal skills, diligence, and accuracy. Since all the invoices had to be entered into the system manually, it also required performing exceptional quality assurance. Despite the high volume of invoices, I took great care to ensure that each payment was accurate and processed in a timely manner, which helped to maintain strong relationships with both building managers and vendors.
September 2015- February 2017
Bookkeeper Assistant
During my time working for a property developer in Brooklyn, I had a wide range of responsibilities that included reconciling nearly twenty
accounts every month, processing a high volume of invoices and rental payments, and managing contract payments for multiple construction
projects. I also oversaw the payroll for a team of nearly 40 employees.
This position was a significant challenge that required me to learn a great deal about accounting and strengthen my time management and task prioritization skills.
Through this experience, I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of attention to detail, accuracy, and efficient workflow management.
September 2014 - June 2015
Secretary/ Office Assistant
My first office job in the US was at B&B Sheet Metal, a metal manufacturer in LIC. Initially, I started with basic tasks such as answering customer calls, handling mail correspondence, and ordering office supplies. However, as time progressed, I was entrusted with more responsibilities, such as creating sales estimates, sales orders, and invoices, reviewing product manufacturing sheets, and adjusting inventory quantities for production. This position required multitasking and exceptional customer service skills, like any other secretarial position. However, working at B&B Sheet Metal taught me that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.
